Last week we heard solid arguments on both sides of the "Fire Lovie Smith" debate. We noted at the time that it was important for the Bears to notch a dominant victory over the hapless Browns on Sunday in order for Smith's employment status to gain some solid footing.
While the final score was pretty lopsided, the win is being called "ugly" by Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Tribune, and we'd have to agree there. The Bears failed to score a touchdown on their first three trips to the red zone, and running back Matt Forte was held to just 3.5 yards per carry on the day. As QB Jay Cutler noted after the game, "We're going to need to make plays if we're going to beat quality teams," and that theory will be put to the test next week against the Arizona Cardinals. If they don't, Smith's seat will get even hotter. --------------------      |

Remember the Browns are hapless so a victory over them doesnt prove anything other then false hopes as I've heard so far on all the bear talk shows, we'll see in the upcoming weeks when they face the Vikings twice & the Packers again plus some other top notch teams
